London Calling: Sex Auction
Phillips de Pury & Company’s Sex auction in London on March 19 features 221 nudes and sex-related works, with heavy emphasis on photography among a who’s who of contemporary artists and some 20th century masters, including works by Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Takashi Murakami. The Sex auction includes images from photography masters Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton, Cindy Sherman, Robert Mapplethorpe, and more, alongside contemporary photography stars like Ryan McGinley, Nobuyoshi Araki, Rankin, and Chas Ray Krider.
